First Communion
First Communion
instruction for children in grades two and above is offered each spring.
Instruction consists of one class on a Sunday afternoon.
We ask that at least one parent accompany their child during this
afternoon session. During our time together students and parents will be
involved in a variety of activities including the baking of bread for communion.
The
students then receive their First Communion the following Sunday at the 11:00
a.m. service. Traditionally, there is a First Communion Brunch immediately
following the service at 12:15 p.m. in the Commons. We encourage the
children to bring their entire family and any other visitors who will be with
them for this special step in their faith journey.
